For Assembly District 2
Carlos Blumberg, Esq., was born on December 4, 1974 and has lived his entire life in Las Vegas, Nevada. His parents, Alvin D. Blumberg, M.D. and Amelia Blumberg moved to Las Vegas in 1971 so that Dr. Blumberg could open his own medical practice and together they could raise their four children (Sophia, Carlos, Rachelle, and Isaac) in Las Vegas. Carlos began his schooling at the Hebrew Academy and went on to Cannon Jr. High School and ultimately graduated from Valley High School in 1992.
Upon graduating from Valley High School and the Clark County School District, Carlos stayed in Las Vegas and enrolled at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), where he studied and majored in Political Science and minored in Spanish. In 1995, Carlos earned his Bachelor in Arts from UNLV. There, Carlos was active with numerous organizations such as Jewish Student Union/Hillel, Phi Alpha Delta (pre-law fraternity), Pi Sigma Alpha (political science honor society), the Minority pre-law association, and finally, was the founding father of Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi) at UNLV all the while fully maintaining and graduating on the Dean’s List with a 3.52 grade point average.
After graduating from UNLV a semester early in 1995 and studying for his law school entrance exam (LSAT), Carlos was accepted and enrolled at Tulane University School of Law, in New Orleans, Louisiana, a consistently top ranked and top-tier law school. At Tulane law, Carlos was elected “First Year Class Senator” to represent his entire class at the Tulane Student Government. In 1999, Carlos received his Juris Doctorate from Tulane University School of Law.
Upon graduating from Tulane law, Carlos was appointed as a legislative advisor to US Senator and Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) in Washington D.C., where he worked on Capital Hill. While working for US Senator Reid, Carlos gained priceless legislative experience as he worked on issues such as health care, education, gaming and transportation.
In 2002 Carlos opened his own professional law corporation and small business in Las Vegas, Nevada named CARLOS BLUMBERG & ASSOCIATES. There, he practices real estate law, corporate/transactional law, civil litigation, criminal law, government affairs, and international law. Furthermore, Carlos has previously served as conflict public defender for the City of Las Vegas, as well as for Clark County, Nevada and for juvenile delinquents. To date, Carlos has represented hundreds of clients and has successfully litigated bench and jury trials from inception until verdict.
Carlos strongly believes in giving back to the community. Currently, Carlos sits on the following boards: Vice-Chairman of the Nevada ADL (Anti-Defamation League); New Leadership Network Member of AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee); Board Member of JNF (Jewish National Fund); Board Member of BBYO (B’nai Brith Youth Organization) Alumni; Cabinet Member of the Las Vegas Jewish Federation; Alumni and Founding Father of AEPi fraternity (Alpha Epsilon Pi); and is also a long time member of Temple Beth Sholom in Summerlin.

More recently, in November 2006, Carlos ran for the Nevada State Assembly against the incumbent holder, receiving over 44% of the vote in a three-way-race. Currently, Assembly District 2 is an open seat with a steadily increase of new democratic voters. There is no doubt that Carlos Blumberg has lived longer in Nevada than all of his other opponents combined and that he has the knowledge and experience necessary to zealously represent his constituents as their new Assemblyman.
In addition, in his spare time, Carlos loves to spend time with his girlfriend Jennifer, their two dogs, Ace and Isabella, travel, and read many, many books.
